Let's talk about anxiety so we can better understand this mood.
Experiencing some anxiety is a natural part of living. Typically, these feelings are temporary, however if anxiety occurs frequently and/or is disruptive of normal life, it can become a problem.
Feelings of anxiety and fear can serve a purpose. These feelings can tell us to get out of the way of an oncoming car or flee an attacker. These are 'survival' responses and help us confront real dangers in our life. Unfortunately, these same brain mechanisms can become overreactive - and can be triggered when there are no apparent dangers. This can lead to irritability, constant stress, and feelings of being overwhelmed.
