There is an old Native American wisdom story in which the elder tells the young brave, "There are two wolves inside of my mind all the time. One wolf is ruled by the impulses of greed, hatred, and power; the other wolf is ruled by the impulses of kindness, compassion, and justice. They often fight each other ferociously." The young brave asks: "So, which wolf wins?" The wise elder answers "The wolf that I feed!"
Be sure that you are feeding the right wolf! When you dwell on resentments, hatred, and revenge you are feeding the dark or negative wolf. When you concentrate on gratitude, kindness, and caring, you are feeding the positive wolf.
